I actually set my alarm this morning so that I could get up and take out the trash. Nevermind that it would have been a lot easier to get off my lazy butt and take it out last night. That wasn’t an option because I was too busy playing with Google Image Labeler. It’s been fun, but it’s a huge time-sucker and I think I’m going to make a point of avoiding it from now on.
We get one large trash pickup on the first trash day of every month, so I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to dispose of the empty boxes and broken appliances that have been cluttering the house. First to go: the last two Littermaid cat boxes I purchased.
I used to be a huge booster of Littermaid, but their quality has gone down the toilet (no pun intended). The last three I bought each broke within a month and there is no way in hell that I’m going to drag a stinky, used cat box back to the store, receipt or no, and try to exchange it. Thus, into the trash they went.
My husband has been cleaning out and rearranging the studio this weekend, so it was time to get rid of the many shipping boxes that had been collecting near the door. Ebay is great, but there’s really not much you can do with a giant, foam-stuffed cardboard box once you take out the merchandise.
All my grand plans for working over the weekend came to naught, so I’m going to make some coffee, get to work early, and burn through a couple of briefs I need to send off later this morning. The personal stuff – getting the new blog off the ground and finishing my latest song – will have to wait until Wednesday night.
Okay, maybe Friday night. I’m giving an hour-long presentation about BlogHer at work on Thursday, so I’ll probably need Wednesday night to prepare. Ah, procrastination, how cruel you can be!
