I’ve started to pay more attention to those moments when, just for a second, you think you see one thing but it turns out to be something else. For example, this weekend I was driving down the highway and a crane or heron flew up from the median. For a split-second, I thought, “Is that a pterodactyl?” Then my mind finished processing the sight and I realized what it really was. Until the processors kick in all the way, though, apparently anything goes.

Lol!
Just how many time have you seen Jurassic Park, exactly? -
This happened to me all the time in my first two post-partum weeks. I was so sleep-deprived I kept seeing things move when they were CLEARLY NOT MOVING. Thus, Greg forced me to stop operating motor vehicles until just a few weeks ago. Very scary to hallucinate when not doing drugs.

Wow…Soooo funny you say that! The other day I was sitting in my heavily treed backyard and I heard the most UNGODLY screeching sound ever..scared the hell out of me….especially because it came from the sky & was accompanied by the HUGE swirly shadow moving through the trees. I kid you not….thought it was a pterodactyl. Turned out to be a Blue Heron, which I see all the time, but had never HEARD one before. Freaky! Also, would SWEAR a dead animal on the highway was a black jaguar one time. Would’ve stopped to check, but I was on the turnpike. Now I’ll never know.
